The Mercantour National Park is the final part of the Alps just before the Mediterannean. It is a land of contrasts, home to a large variety of fauna, flora and landscapes, sometimes unique in Europe. It forms, together with the neighbouring Italian national park, a unique cross-border natural area.
Land of people, it includes two sites listed for their historical monuments, le Val de Fontanalba and la Vallée des Merveilles, and it has outstanding natural heritage. Its treasures can be discovered by unaccompanied walkers, or walkers with guides who will give more detailed explanations. Hundreds of kilometres of maintained and marked out paths, dozens of refuges and numerous information offices at the entrance to the Parks are available to visitors to assist them in their exploration of the Park. The network of tourist operators of the association Mercantour ecotourisme, offer various types of services and ecotourist activities to allow you to discover the area in an authentic way.
